Welcome to Hooked on Cycling Holidays and our fabulous cycling holiday in Marche. Marche is a wonderful little explored region of Italy on the Adriatic coast. Our seven night level 2-3 self guided ( extra and fewer nights is possible ) biking vacation allows you to explore this quiet region. You will be based on the coast in the lovely town of Gabicce Mare in a wonderful 4 star hotel. The hotel has its own swimming pool , small gym , sauna and spa pool. Each day you will head out self guided following our pre-planned routes. The daily cycle tours will take you to historic hilltop villages, through beautiful scenic roads , exploring castles and stopping to sample wine and local produce. Being centre based allows you to choice your schedule , biking all the days or maybe only a few. The beach is only 50 metres away with nice golden sand. In the evening relax by the pool , in the large gardens of in the nice bar over looking the swimming pool.

Day 1 Arrival in Gabicce Mare
Fly into Rimini , Ancona or Bologna Forli airports. On arrival at your 4 star hotel close to the beach in the wonderful coastal resort of Gabicce Mare relax with your welcome cocktail and meeting about the cycling tour routes. If you have time walk down to the town or beach for some exercise before dinner.

Day 2 Monte San Bartolo and Gradara 24 miles 38 km
On leaving your hotel you head south along the panoramic road through the Monte Can Bartolo National Park before heading inland through the twisting minor roads through the hilltop village of Tavullia before reaching the fortified village of Gradara. Here you can explore the red stoned castle and walled town at you leisure. Take a coffee and explore the craft shops before you return back to your hotel. Its all downhill from here !

Day 3 Pesaro 46 miles 75 km
Today you are cycling a slightly longer route ( can be shortened ) to Pesaro. On route you will have many wonderful views over the surrounding Marche landscape where the beautiful quiet roads will lead you through the historic village of Santa Maria Dell’Arzilla before descending to Pesaro. Pesaro also offers many little cobbled streets to explore before heading back over the Panoramic road back to Gabicce Mare.

Day 4 Monitfiore Conca 28 miles 46 km
A wonderful ride today to one of the regions nicest fortified hilltop villages at Montifiore Conca. Before the gentle climb to Montifiore stop off at Moriano di Romagna. At the top of the climb you will find the castle in a lovely little village. Now you deserve a coffee and lunch before exploring the small village and see the wonderful views. On your return you can take a slight detour to Montescudo and see the views of the sea. You now cycle down the Conca Valley and back to Gabicce Mare.

Day 5 Relax or cycle
Today you can follow another wonderful cycle tour or maybe go to the beach to relax. Maybe you wish to stay at your hotel and take a dip in the hotel pool. For those wishing to do something else , golf is nearby with its wonderful health Spa , take a bus to San Marino and indulge in the tax free shopping ! or maybe take a walk in the San Bortolo National Park not far from the hotel.

Day 6 Montigridolfo 27 miles 44 km
Today you head directly inland through Gradara and Tavullia and onto Montigridolfo. Here take a stop there is a lovely restaurant for lunch before you make your way back along the lovely quiet roads.

Day 7 Minera 46 miles 76 km
Today you cycle out to a farm at Minera through the lovely villages of Saludecio and Tavoleto. Once you arrive you will be able to sample some of the local produce and typical dishes of the region. Once you have had a nice relaxing time you can continue your journey east back to Gabicce Mare.

Day 8 Departure
After a wonderful week it is now time to make your way home. After breakfast you can take your private transfer or take a train to the airport.

How to get there
By Plane
To Bologna ( Forli ) , Ancona  airports with Ryanair or Charter flight to Rimini airport we can arrange private transfer to the hotel.
Private transfers 1-4 persons , per transfer return , Rimini £75 , Bologna Forli £155 , Ancona £199, Bologna  £221.
A train service also runs from Bologna or Ancona to Gabicce Mare takes around 1.5 hours and costs around 14€.
A bus service runs from Forli and leaves 30 minutes after the Ryanair flights and costs 10€ single to Cattolica.
